Led by the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation this fishing adventure was proudly sponsored by Contact Nature, with a donation of $ 3,476.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This amount raised during the 2019 edition of the annual fly fishing benefit tournament was given to the foundation last Saturday. This amount having been used to purchase all the fishing equipment necessary for the women during the expedition, the offer was also enhanced by the gift, to each of the participants, of a package of 3 days of fishing on the Rivi\u00e8re-\u00e0-Mars including accommodation and access rights to the Bec-Scie Outdoor Center as well as to the salmon Fishway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:23px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"767\" src=\"https:\/\/contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23264\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-768x575.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-1536x1151.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.contact-nature.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/photo-remise-de-che\u0300que-2048x1534.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:52px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does this therapeutic expedition consist of?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tipoftoes.com\/expeditions\/63-pilot-project-summer-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This pilot project of the On the Tip of the Toes Foundation<\/a> gave young adults in treatment or in remission from cancer the opportunity to discuss with people living in a similar situation while enjoying the benefits of nature on physical and mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>This expedition allows us to socialize with people of our age who can understand our reality. It allows exchanges that make us grow, think, which bring relief, peace of mind. By getting out of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, the expedition allows us to recharge our batteries with nature.<\/p><cite>Sophie, participant in the Connexion expedition<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:37px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>And what about the 2021 edition?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Once again this year, our <a href=\"https:\/\/contact-nature.ca\/evenement\/tournoi-100-remise-a-leau-edition-releve-encan-en-ligne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fly fishing fundraising tournament<\/a> is in full swing! Our <a href=\"https:\/\/fb.me\/e\/djAxNiEGB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">online auction<\/a> is published on the event&#8217;s Facebook page and the funds raised will allow us to carry out another project for people in a vulnerable context!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:36px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Unique in Quebec, our tournament showcases our beautiful river and helps protect the resource by releasing and using barbless hooks. It ends on August 8, 2021, so there is still time to <a href=\"https:\/\/reservotron.com\/contact-nature\/activities\/2671\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">register<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:37px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the years, we continuously aim to make nature accessible to everyone! The benefit tournament being one of the activities allowing us to achieve this objective, thanks to it we were able to set up several projects in the past such as the construction of our reduced mobility platform, the creation of a club fly tying for young people with learning difficulties and, more recently, the therapeutic fishing expedition for young people with cancer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From July 2 to July 8, 9 young women with cancer took part in the Connexion expedition, a therapeutic fishing expedition on the Escoumins River.
