No More Polystyrene Here!

11 June 2019

To celebrate Water Month, we make the commitment to stop the use and sale of styrofoam in all our establishments. Starting next month, once our reserves are up, no polystyrene dishes will be sold or used at the Bec-Scie Outdoor Center, at Okwari Adventures, at the Rivière-à-Mars reception cabin and at Au Jardin de mon père campground. Contact Nature is proud to position itself as one of the few companies in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean to make this commitment. We will offer reusable or compostable dishes to our customers and employees to continue to provide outstanding service.

In addition, Contact Nature is committed to compensate for the greenhouse gas emissions of its vehicles through the Boreal Carbon program of Chicoutimi University. This program consists of reducing the impact of its GHG by financing the planting of trees that will be used for scientific research projects.

A complete sustainable development policy

Last summer, again as part of Water Month, we announced that we were stopping the sale of single-use water bottles in all our divisions. In order to continue along this path, we are adopting this month a complete sustainable development policy, covering the environmental, social and economic aspects. It includes work reintegration assistance, purchasing from local suppliers, pay equity and the elimination of plastic straws.

The whole team supports this ecological shift and invites other companies in the region to do the same!
